Generik – Hand Over Your Mouth

What do you know? What do I know? What does it mean to “know” anything at all…?

For Those Who Know is a collection of thoughts, concerns, and theories from one man’s journey toward self actualization. The debut solo release from San Diego’s rapper/beatboxing/producer sensation Generik, takes place during a period of constant curiosity, opening the doors to both enlightening epiphanies, and the most terrifying burrows of darkness. One half of the highly touted duo, Left In Company(Generik&Anek), For Those Who Know attempts to evolve consciousness by sharing lessons learned through mind altering psychedelic soundscapes, leaving the listener with the heightened awareness, you are more powerful than you think.

After a twisted introduction of distorted voice samples looped over a clash between tribal dance and militia march, things get started with the song “Mr. Opinion”, delivering the blueprint of the ideas which the debut release lays forth. An album almost entirely self produced by Generik, features a wide range of production styles from heavy electronica in “Unlocks The Beauty” to the upbeat, vividly sexual and psychedelic single, “Hand Over Your Mouth”, and even showcases his highly praised beatboxing talents in “Face Shots” and “UnderCovers”. Also featuring production help from Audible Junkie, and guest vocal features from longtime friend and LNC counterpart Anek, For Those Who Know is set to become a stepping stone of worldly thought and instantly revered by fans of multiple genres of music across the globe.

Appreciate where you came from and all experiences gathered, acknowledge every noun unnoticed. And so, consider the album a check point for the following: Those who ponder, those who question, those who be, and to those who are, this is for you – A voice in a crowd of nobodies amidst the collapse of western civilization. Don’t worry and don’t deny the beauty, wake up!

“Time is short so my contributions are presented in my love for the world, a gift of music wrapped in run on sentences.” – Generik
